<span data-metadata=""><span data-buffer="">From Humble Beginnings to Sustainable Solutions
Morning Greens Farm was born from a shared vision and a commitment to sustainable food production. In 2009, Kelly Hansen joined the team, bringing expertise and enthusiasm to help Morning Greens Farm expand its reach in Manistee, Michigan.
A Pioneering Approach
Morning Greens Farm pioneered a unique pick-up system for online orders. This involved a heated or cooled kiosk trailer pulled by an electric vehicle, allowing customers to conveniently pick up their fresh produce on their way home from work or school. The trailer’s removable panel even enabled it to “mate” with the barn for efficient multi-item packaging.
From Farmer's Markets to Growing Communities
While the original vision included the kiosk-based retail model, Morning Greens Farm has evolved. Ken Lindsey, co-founder, originally sold his vegetables at various farmer's markets, facing the challenges of long hours and solo operation. Today, he operates a thriving 2-acre farm, focusing on wholesale and restaurant trade while demonstrating the potential for sustainable, local food production.
Looking Forward
Morning Greens Farm remains at the forefront of innovation and sustainability. Whether exploring new retail models, supporting urban farming initiatives, or expanding wholesale partnerships, we are committed to growing a better future, one plant at a time.
